Estate/Moving Sales & Liquidations

Our professional, experienced staff will provide you with a no obligation, onsite consultation to properly assess your needs, and develop an action plan for your specific situation. We will determine the length of the sale to optimize profit. Often an estate sale is the ideal way to sell a household full of possessions. Perhaps the furniture and artwork should be sold at auction or consignment. If this is the case, we will arrange it. We will explain our services, review the contract, and decide the actual dates for the sale with you in person.

 

It is difficult to assess the market value of items that have sentimental value. Sometimes people unknowingly throw away items that are valuable. The small old tea tin that is actually worth $76, or the beaten up book that is actually a bible from the civil war, might appear to be garbage at first glance. Our staff will clean and polish all items that require it. Do not throw anything away before the sale! Allow our staff to sort through all of it. We will bag up items for disposal if they do not have any value. Once an agreement to use our services is in place, we will research, appraise and price all items for sale including:

Our staff will clean/polish the items that require it. We will throw away things that belong in the garbage. Items will be organized and staged to attract buyers. Tables, tablecloths, display cases for jewelry, clothes racks, and additional lighting will be provided. Each item will be priced. Any necessary permits will be obtained before the sale. Compass Rose will promote your sale and specific items on estate sale sites and email them to our list of over 35,000 potential buyers. We will advertise your sale in the local newspaper and provide signage.

 

On the day of your sale, we will have staff available to answer questions, watch over your possessions, and process all sales transactions via cash and credit cards. We strive to create a cheerful, pleasant shopping experience for everyone. After the sale is over, we can provide a clean-out for any remaining items. These can be sold to companies that buy the entire lot or donated to a charity to provide a tax write-off. We will provide a truck and staff to haul it away or work with charities that will pick up the remainder of the items. The house will be left in a broom clean condition. Within ten business days, you will be sent a check for the net proceeds of the sale. A list of all items sold, with prices, and a complete sale summary sheet will also be provided.
